Randy Newman to Perform at the Sheldon

Categories: This Just In

On February 25, the Friends of the Sheldon is presenting a benefit concert featuring cult composer/songwriter Randy Newman. According to the venue, proceeds from the show will benefit Sheldon educational programs. Patron tickets priced at $125 and $150 are on sale now; these include free parking, preferred seating and a post-concert reception. Regular single tickets are on sale Saturday, January 22, and are $45 for the balcony and $50 for the orchestra. Summing up Newman's influence -- not to mention his resume -- is a daunting task. He's won Academy Awards and Grammy Awards, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame earlier this year and is responsible for tons of soundtrack music. Locals Jon Hardy & the Public even recorded an EP of Newman cover songs, which you can download here -- and sample below.
