Hear a New So Many Dynamos Song!
Photographer Ryan Russell has probably shot one of your favorite musicians. (His client list is too long to print, but some of this notable subjects include Tegan and Sara, Underoath, Ben Gibbard and Paramore.) Russell has also worked with locals So Many Dynamos; in fact, he shot the cover for the band's album The Loud Wars. It was a no-brainer, then, for the photographer and the Dynamos to meet up again as part of Russell's new endeavor, Nervous Energies. The premise is simple: Bands perform stripped-down versions of their songs, and Russell films them. For the SMD session, the band sat in their van and performed a new song, "Barely Listening." According to the video notes, "Aaron [Stovall] and Nathan [Bernaix] ran their keyboards through the car stereo, Norm [Kunstel] used a guitar case and shaker, and Griffin [Kay] played his guitar with no amp." Take a listen below; the tropical harmonies and textures certainly warm the heart on this cold day.
