Health Nazis beware: Although many places in St. Louis County have banned indoor smoking, quite a few joints in the county still allow patrons to torch their squares. A lengthy list of 120 or so establishments is exempt from the Indoor Clean Air Code. View the full list
here. Below, here are ten places that stood out from the pack.

I can't believe they've managed to find yet another way to restrict us and tell us what we can and can't do. There are quite a lot of people that like to go out and enjoy a drink and a smoke. And I think that facts will show that if a smoker can't smoke, they are NOT going to go there and spend money. Just look at Las Vegas for example. Bar owners there are crying out for them to lift the regulations because it is killing their business so badly. Especially when they have come to realize that it is the smokers that tend to spend more money there. They've noted that the non-smoking crowd is actually a much smaller portion of their business. You want to help kill a dying economy? Tell a large portion of the population that they can't go out in public and comfortably enjoy themselves. If the regulations continue, we might see some of the Prohibition Era problems returning.

I understand that some people and most people don't smoke any more and SOME non-smokers are bothered by smoke from smokers but I still believe that if a business owner wants to allow smoking in there establishments than they should have the right to do so. Make them post a sign that smoking is allowed and if a person that is bothered by smokers then thay can CHOSE to go somewhere else and dine or drink. If business owners find that non-smoking establishments are attracting more buisness then they can CHOSE to be non-smoking.

Mrs. Benanti, Likes to Breathe is rrright. Health nazis is politically and descriptively incorrect. Allopathetic sickness gnawtzees or just gnawtzees would be a better term to use. After all they buzz around bothering and annoying people and contribute next to nothing. Except for irrational capnophobics unable to read a sign and decide they are not welcome there.

I've never even heard of any of these bars.

Thanks for providing this list. Now I know what bars to avoid.

I think the "health Nazis" comment is way out of line.

These establishments that allow smoking are the ones running the "gas chambers". It's amazing that people will enter them willingly.

Readers, do not bother clicking through to the next pages. It's just an otherwise content free stretching out of an incomplete list. Just take the link. What a more useless than usual bit of page-view bait.
