Queens of the Stone Age Coming to the Pageant

The best Valentine ever? Stoner dude-bros Queens of the Stone Age are comfirmed to be playing at the Pageant on Wednesday, April 6 Tuesday, April 5. (Note: The Pageant just sent out a date correction.) Tickets are $27 general admission, $32 for the balcony and are on sale Friday, February 18, at 5 p.m. (Does this make up for the fact that Them Crooked Vultures' tour never made it here?) If you need me, I'll be blasting Rated R in my car.

After all this time we're going to get a show where they focus on one of their second-tier albums? Seriously? I was SOOOOOO stoked for this show when I saw the announcement, and to be honest I still am, but cutting down on tracks from Rated R, SFTD, and Lullabies at the expense of self-titled songs is pretty lame. Don't get me wrong, I like that album, but Rated R and SFTD are two of my favorite albums ever. I can't believe after waiting to see QOTSA forever we get this caveat. I'll never forgive myself for missing their 2002 Pageant show. But enough whining, we still get QOTSA at The Pageant, which any way you cut it is still awesome.

I would imagine Joey Castillo. He's been playing with them since Lullabies to Paralyze.

According to Pitchfork, they'll be playing their first self titled album in full along with some "surprises". I'm excited!

Their last club play in St. Louis was in September '02, last St. Louis play was opening for Nine Inch Nails in 2005. Been way too long!

They were the best band at Lollapalooza in '04. Haven't seen 'em since.
