Superfun Yeah Yeah Rocketship Playing Final Shows Next Week

Superfun Yeah Yeah Rocketship is one person, Corey Goodman. So when he decides he no longer wants to perform under that moniker, it's not exactly like he's breaking up, per se; it's almost as if his alternate persona is ceasing to exist. Let's go with that, then, when we say that in the coming days, Goodman will be playing three final shows as Superfun Yeah Yeah Rocketship. The dates are February 5 at the Blue Agave in Belleville, February 11 at Cicero's and February 12 at the Owls Club in Alton. When A to Z asked him via Twitter why he was ending the project, he simply wrote back, "It's time to do something different!" Fair enough.

Superfun has been a polarizing character in the scene; you either adored or despised his theatrical, humor-based electro-pop shtick. But there's no denying his creativity, whether he was doing a Weezer cover show or writing a song in homage to Scott Pilgrim. Goodman put together a video montage of some of his notable performances, which you can view below.
