O'Fallon's annual Heritage & Freedom Fest is making a serious bid to be a Fair St. Louis competitor this year, in particular because of its July 4 headliner: quirk-pop heroes OK Go. Tonic is also on that day's bill. Other artists performing throughout the three-day festival include Josh Gracin and Phil Vassar. More info here, but it should be noted that all of these shows are free.

OK Go's last appearance in town was a sold-out show at the Old Rock House. Since then, the group has continued to carve out a career separate from the major-label machine. A new single, "The Greatest Song I Ever Heard," came out last week, and it's the theme for Morgan Spurlock's new movie, POM Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Film Ever Sold.
