Dead Prez Is Coming To The Firebird
This announcement came in late last week, but we wanted to make sure everyone saw this: The Firebird just booked Dead Prez for a show on August 15th. Tickets are $20 and on sale now. 
Dead Prez, of course, is stic.man and M-1 -- known throughout its more than decade-long career for its rigid ideology and agressive performance style. Never signing to a major label, the duo has nevertheless left an indelible mark on hip-hop.
Meanwhile, it's worth noting the Firebird's recent string of bookings, which is about as diverse as it is possible to be: Elsinore, Katchafire, Hunx and His Punx, Dead Prez, I Fight Dragons, the Chop Tops, Lucky Boys Confusion, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, and the Slackers were all announced in the past week or so. Good stuff.
