The Luminary Center for the Arts has just announced the music half of its final Post Performance of the summer: My Brightest Diamond. It will be held on September 11th, 2011, from 7 to 10 p.m. As with all these concerts, it is free and held in the Old Post Office Plaza downtown. A visual artist will create a site-specific work to accompany the music -- details have not been announced on that.

Shara Worden (My Brightest Diamond) is working on a fourth album -- All Things Will Unwind -- for Asthmatic Kitty, due out in October. Her solo work has been marked by a transfixing voice and live presence, and she's appeared on a number of high-profile collaboration albums, including 2009's Dark Was The Night.

This is the latest in a series of improbable bookings by the Luminary: Brooklyn's High Places will take the Post Plaza on August 20th and Deerhoof will make its St. Louis debut at the Luminary itself on September 26th.

July's Post Performance featured Jay Fay, Adult Fur and Safety Word, with art by Andrew Woodard -- it's a beautiful setting for live music, and the three mostly DJ sets made for a truly surreal evening in downtown St. Louis.
