Nickelback is Coming to the Scottrade Center

Categories: This Just In

Nickelback is coming! You remember -- one of the only bands you can possibly classify as rock that's still capable of sending a single up the charts. May 29th is the day and Chad Kroeger and pals will be at the Scottrade Center (1401 Clark Avenue, 314-241-1888). Bush (!), Seether and My Darkest Days will open. Tickets go on sale Saturday, January 21st at 10 a.m., and you fans of Canadian post-grunge would do well to not procrastinate.

The band is touring on the heels know what? You don't need us to tell you who Nickelback is or what it's up to. Everyone knows the drill: Outsized success, outsized backlash. Last year's kerfuffle over the band's Thanksgiving NFL Halftime appearance was the whole thing in a nutshell. And now for a little single entendre:

The kerfuffle was about halftime at the Thanksgiving Detroit game but I'm comforted by the fact that it wasn't important enough for you to get right.

Sweet.  Jesus.  Buddha.

The best thing to come out of Canada was Dave Coulier and The Guess Who.

Wait, they don't play the Super Bowl in November? Good thing we aren't sports bloggers...

Thanks -- it's fixed.
