Railroad Earth
Newgrass band Railroad Earth is playing the Pageant (6161 Delmar Boulevard, 314-726-6161) on Friday, and we'd like to send you.

The Pernikoff Brothers will open the show, and tickets are $20 in advance (if, of course, you don't win them here). RE's most recent album was 2010's self-titled effort, but this is a band that wins its devotees live anyway.

To win: Tell us your favorite memory from a Railroad Earth show. If you haven't been, tell us what your favorite song is. Winners will be chosen at random.

When Todd did not know that In The Basement was their song until I told him at the Mississippi Nights Fest.

I've been a fan for many years, and would love to win a pair of tickets to see Railroad Earth. I first saw them at Cicero's, probably 10 or 11 years ago. The songs Colorado and Long Way To Go are the tunes I usually attach to the band, but I love it when they cover old school bluegrass tunes. I'll choose Colorado as my favorite since it conjures such powerful mountain imagery ...

My favorite Railroad Earth show/moment was when a friend and I drove all the way from St. Louis to Philadelphia and saw them in a small town outside of the city. I believe the town was called Glenside? The show was great. If memory servers me, they played a few songs with Larry Keel, one of which was "Going Down the Road Feeling Bad ", which they nailed. The show and trip were both amazing.

Railroad's Thursday show @ Harvest this past year made my birthday an unforgettable and most enjoyable time! Been craving Way of the Buffalo!

My favorite RRE moment was at the Sheridan Opera House at Telluride Nightgrass last yeah. The lights were off when the band started playing Mission Man. As the lights flashed on during the chanted "Ohs" I started to see the smiling faces of my friends all around me. It was magical!

My favorite railroad earth show was at rothbury music fest. 2009. Bluegrass under the clear blue skys with Ur friends and all intentions to kick up some dirt is the best. The smaller crowd will be great. Bring it on

I'd love to win a ticket to the show, I've never been, but will be attending and taping the show. Can't say that I have a favorite RRE song, per se, but a couple hot ones for sure include Drag Him Down and Mighty River.

The only time I've seen Railroad was at the first Rothbury. Great show, very relaxing. Hoping to hear My Sisters and my Brothers and/or Bird in a House at the pageant. It would help cap the birthday weekend : )

These contest are great, so thanks. I did notice that Chris asked for only one ticket, and you indicated that there would be multiple tickets being given away. Just trying my best since I only need one! As long as none go to waste, it is all good. Have a great weekend. - Brian Doolittle
