Interesting show tonight at Off Broadway: The Split Livers, featuring Danny Barnes of the Bad Livers and Wayne Gottstine of Split Lip Rayfield. Separately, the two are champions of off-kilter folk and bluegrass. As a collaboration, they play music from both band's catalogues and are working on a joint album together.

We'd like to send you to tonight's show. To win: Tell us what you would rather use as a weapon -- a banjo or an acoustic guitar -- and why. Obviously this is a last-minute thing. You have three hours to weigh in. Make sure you give us some way to contact you in your comment. Go!

banjo! It's made of metal. That's gotta hurt!   Mark

A banjo of course, why would you want to chance damaging a beautiful instrument like a guitar. Randy@oaktreeconcerts.com

I would use a guitar as my choice of weapon.  With more strings, you have more options; want to strangle six people?  Go right ahead!!  Want to launch flaming splinters of guitar body?  Be our guest!!  Need to sneak into a camp across the river at night?  Make a zip line!! Or just row across!  Ever been stabbed with a pointed pick guard?  Hit in the head with a rod of tuning machines?  The options are endless!!!!  Guitar will rule the world!!!

The banjo...my wife hated me pllaying the mando as she says its twangy and she said the only worse twangy instrument would be the banjo...well it kept her away from our jams so seems like it would keep those people not in the know away too! Jp_k@hotmail.com

I would use the banjo, the acoustic guitar will break way too easily, most banjos have a nice metal rim around the body, which, you can also add attachments to the rim, any manner of knife, effectively making into a Banjoyette, or even something more sinister, like live jellyfish, or the secretions of a poison arrow frog, another advantage to the banjo is it's spherical shape, tends to be more aerodynamic, it also does not have a hole in the middle of it, which means it will not catch wind, and do your best Tallahassee impression while you are at it  ~Gregory Cluck greggcluck@gmail.com

Banjo for sure! Especially if given the ability to pick it machine gun fast like Danny does! That and the fact that most people get tight buttholed when they hear those sweet sweet banjo sounds, fear factor is huge. Geetar aint a bad option either, worked well for Antonio Banderas in Desperado right! Darby BradleyLDarby@gmail.com
