KDHX and the Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts team up to combine art and music. The free collaborated event Sound Waves takes place every third Thursday of the month and features a new DJ each event. Thursday July 19 from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m., former KDHX DJ Grace Woodard sets the soundtrack.

Attendees can expect to hear "combinations of ambient, Indie and folk music blending together to reflect the exhibit", says Kate Estwing, Program Director of KDHX. Hosted at the Pulitzer (3716 Washington Blvd), Sound Waves provides a musical back drop to the art center's exhibits.

The current running exhibition is In the Still Epiphany. "The exhibit right now is an interesting mix of different kinds of artists with varying styles so its a fun one to play with [as a DJ]," says Estwing. Curated by Gedi Sibony, the exhibt includes works by John Singer Sargent, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse and more.

Below, past Sound Waves DJs talk about their experience.
