Just a little over a month stands between us and the sixth annual An Under Cover Weekend at the Firebird (2706 Olive Street). The bands doing the covering have been announced, and every week day for the next two weeks, we'll learn one more band they'll be covering. Today's initial announcement is that Aquitaine will be covering Oasis. "Although it is early in the game, this feels like our closest recreation of the lineup and energy that we had in year one -- which is really what we were going for," says AUCW co-founder Mike Tomko. "I couldn't be happier with the enthusiasm that the AUCW6 cast has shown and I'm really proud to have them all on our team."

Tomorrow, you'll be able to find out who Animal Empty will be performing as, then Humdrum, Volcanoes and LucaBrasi through the rest of the week. The full schedule is below.

For the second year, photographers Jason Stoff and Bryan Sutter did a portrait series with each band performing at AUCW -- that's where the above photo comes from. Jason and Bryan developed a fantastic chemistry during last year's shoots, which seemed to have grown even deeper somehow in the off-season," says Tomko. "And that has been hugely instrumental in what we're trying to do. Those guys are seriously pros and I don't think that we could do this without them at this point."

This year, they shot at the Thaxton Speakeasy. "AUCW has always, at least under the surface, had this secret agent / film noir aesthetic, and for that the Thaxton was such an amazing canvas to shoot our bands against," says Tomko.

Keep an eye on the official event web site over the next two weeks to find out if your guesses on those question marks are the right ones.
