RFT Music writer Allison Babka had this to say about the show in our print critic's picks this week:

Mainstream ska-punk bands often get thrown onto '90s fad lists, lumped together with Hypercolor T-shirts and Gak as "that thing that happened that one time." But despite pop radio's quick dismissal of the genre, bands such as Reel Big Fish have continued to skank away with energetic brass, distorted guitar and catchy lyrics for more than twenty years. Relentless touring with third-wave ska standouts such as Less Than Jake, Goldfinger and Let's Go Bowling has ensured that RBF fans get the most bang for their concert buck, and with the Pilfers and St. Louis' own Dan Potthast on the Pageant bill, this show will be no exception.

Check out the music video for their song "I Dare You to Break My Heart" from the band's latest album Candy Coated Fury:

I deserve to go because my fiance will blast the music while he showers every morning. Of course at first I was angry but after I heard the song "Beer" I started listening to the band. They got me with that song. Since they only come about once a year, I want to go to my first Reel Big Fish concert. I may even dance.. :P http://www.facebook.com/Laura.Knezik

Do you know who deserves these tickets to Reel Big Fish? My children. No, no - it's not what you think. You see, I'm a stay at home mom to two young boys. Great boys, really. The best, I couldn't have asked for better. And I am trying to be a good mommy, I am - but this stay at home home thing is pretty new to me. I guess you could say I am still searching for my "groove". I haven't been out of the house much since I quit my full-time job. As you can imagine, it can make a person feel 'cooped-up', restless, being alone under the same roof with small children. Admittedly, I've been a bit crabby. My kids don't deserve crabby mom - they deserve calm, restful mom. The kind of mom who bakes cookies with them, not the kind of mom who quietly cries when watching the same Yo Gabba Gabba show for the 15th time. I think, for their sake, a night on the town is just what this mommy needs. A time I can get away, restore myself, live a little. I need these tickets - my children need these tickets. So please... when making your decision about who deserves these tickets the most, think of the children. Thank you.

I deserve to see Reel Big Fish because I'm a 40 yr old mother of 2, sporting a fresh dog bite on my face, who needs to be jamming in the front row so that Aaron Barrett can gaze upon my marred beauty and realize that he MUST HAVE A PIECE OF THIS!! Did I mention that my husband is out-of-town on business? And that I've already booked a babysitter? ;) Contact me through FB.

I deserve to go because I last saw them 12 years ago when I was 17 and I need to find out just how much the slow march of time has devastated my youth (and Reel big Fish therein).

Besides hanging out and playing Nintendo, all I do is watch Baseketball over and over, which by default makes Reel Big Fish the only band I have ever heard of.- @Joey_Vee on Twitter
