The Ten Best Shows in St. Louis This Weekend: February 15 to 17
Kishi Bashi - Saturday @ The Firebird
Kishi Bashi
w/ Plume Giant, Ross Christopher
@ The Firebird
8:30 p.m. | $12/$14
Listen folks -- loopin' ain't easy, so it's all the more impressive when it's executed with such musical virtuosity and violin-plucking beauty. (MS)
Male Bondage
w/ White Fire, Trauma Harness
@ Livery Company
9 p.m. | $5
Male Bondage plays some testosterone-fueled dank dude jams. Grab a brew and throw down if that's your bag. (MS)
Roller Disco
w/ DJ Boogieman, DJ Invinsible Cola
@ St. Louis Skatium
9:30 p.m. | $10
Disco, skates and tacos! Party, party, party! Disco duds encouraged, of course. (MS)
Pistol and the Sisters CD Release
w/ Pat Eagan of The Royal Smokestacks, Gary Schoenberger
@ Plush
11 p.m. | $5
I got a package in the mail yesterday containing this new five-song CD, as well as a t-shirt. I liked the look of the shirt a lot, and it was even my size, so I realllly wanted to like the CD. When it started playing there was no question Pistol and the Sisters shred Americana style, with impressive chops and irreverent lyricism-- go to this show. (DH)
Sunday (Feb. 17):
The Humanoids
w/ Masked Intruder, The Fuck Off and Dies, Perdition, Eaten Back to Life
@ Cicero's
7:45 p.m. | $10
Masked Intruder, who recently played the Dudes Magazine release show at Lemmon's, just can't seem to get enough of St. Louis. See them this time with the Humanoids -- a perfect pairing of pop-punk peers. (DH)
