The Pageant will look like this all weekend.
This weekend features a grab bag full of shows to go to. The Urge celebrates a CD release all weekend, local musicians pay tribute to the late great Lou Reed at Off Broadway, the Crack Fox celebrates its fourth birthday, and the Saint Louis Science Center features a star show paired with live music. Check out these recommendations and more in our weekend roundup.

Friday (November 22):

Acid Kat Fall Freak Out
w/ Babe Maggots, Shit/Storm, Snooty and the Ratfinks, Zoned Out, Corrigan Brothers, Tubby Tom, Animal Teeth, Beauty Pageant, Nightmare Boyzzz, Dad Jr., Pet Rock the Musical
@ Livery Company
6 p.m. | free
Acid Kat Zine curates its next big local showcase, featuring punk, garage rock and noise. Read more about minds behind Acid Kat in this week's Fill in the Blank profile on Animal Teeth. (MS)

The Black Dahlia Murder
w/ Skeletonwitch, Fallujah, Wolvhammer
@ The Firebird8
8 p.m. | $15-$18
The Black Dahlia Murder plays melodic death metal with blackened thrash metal masters Skeletonwitch -- click the link to check out an interview with the latter, and head to Vintage Vinyl at 6 p.m. for a Skeletonwitch meet-and-greet. (MS)

Black Uhuru
w/ Mike Pinto
@ Blueberry Hill
9 p.m. | $25.-$27.50
Straight out of Kingston, Jamaica, Black Uhuru plays real, no-bullshit roots reggae that even netted the group the first ever Grammy award in the category of Best Reggae Album, in 1985. (DH)

Hessler
w/ Truculuent Void, Manifest, Shock the Junkie
@ Fubar
7 p.m. | $8-$10
Close your eyes and you'd swear you we at a hair-metal show from the '80s. Chicago's Hessler goes balls-out at every show, even if the group's female lead singer isn't physiologically equipped to do so. And no, that wasn't a sexist joke. It was a balls joke. (DH)

Also on Friday night, check out Iris Dement and the Urge CD Release (with performances also on November 23 and November 29). Click the links for more info from our Out Every Night series.
