Jimmy Tebeau, frontman of local Grateful Dead cover band the Schwag and former owner of Camp Zoe, has been released from federal prison today. Tebeau was sentenced to 30 months for "maintaining a drug-involved premises". Police allege he was complicit in the open-air drug market at Camp Zoe, the 350-acre property that served as both the home of Schwagstock and where Tebeau lived with his wife and children. (The land was seized by the federal government in Tebeau's court proceedings.)

Good behavior and a plea deal got his sentence reduced, and now Tebeau is out of the clink and staying in a halfway house in St. Louis. Here is an announcement about the newly released Tebeau, as shared by Chicago band Terrapin Flyer:

No word on when Tebeau will be able to perform music live again, but at least now he is in St. Louis and can see his family. Keep an eye on RFT Music for updates to this story as they come.

for the record just because someone pleads guilty for a lessor charge does not mean they actually commited the crime they are charged with.

when facing a longterm sentence a lot of people plead guilty because it sucks to be mistakenly found guilty and put away for a long time.

it's not about what the truth is it's about what you can prove the two arent always the same.

if they were we wouldnt have people on deathrow being released becaUSE OF NEW DNA EVIDENCE.

If they turn that jewel of my youth into a public use landfill, because of budget cuts, neglect , or ineptitude on the part of the DNR, I swear by all that's holy, the revolution starts here!

Quite simply the victim of the failed war on drugs and an aggressive and repressive Missouri police state.

Not to Mention this was all taking place right next to a national park, where federal presence is high. I don't think he deserved what he got, but come on. Anyway, glad he is back in STL.

Ok hears the thing this guy claimed not to know drugs were being sold on his property which we all now is a lie, he had no real job but had over 2 million in his bank account, his own workers rolled on him so he did break the law and u have to deal with the consequences

Glad to hear he's out and ok, now when are we the people going to put a stop to the government pushing us around!?!? Who's next, who's land is next, what rights are next?!?!? We the people are the only ones that can stop it!

Really glad to hear he is back with his family. As for the government, they've been taking land since the start of time. Just ask the Indians

I thought that's because they were trying to REALLY break it off in his @$$ . But everyone said he didn't help or sell drugs . Just the government can do what ever they want . As in the 2nd admement rights . All the sudden try an take away our guns . As they ramp up there tactical weapons an gear . Something is just not wright !

A condition of his parole is that he cannot inflict his "music" on the people of St Louis

@Bamp They should call it goose stepping fascist state park since it was basically a setup by hillbilly fucks to hand this land to the corrupt DNR. Fuck everyone involved and fuck the state parks.

What do you think goes on at every festival? So why are those promoters not being arrested. Simple. Jimmy did not pay the right people and they just came and took it. He also claimed that he did know about the drug sales, that was part of his plea bargain. Learn the facts before you give your opinion, otherwise, you just sound like an ignorant ass.

Ok, so, the correct spelling would be "here's" and "know"...
His money was all accounted for legally from ticket sales to events at Zoe and touring with the Schwag and the JGB.  I'm fairly certain being a musician, event organizer, and venue owner are all very real jobs.

@dalediversity  The last show he played in STL hit capacity in less than an hour after opening the doors.  It would appear the people of St. Louis are lining up for him to "inflict" his music on us.
