Donald Sterling Is More Fit to Own a Cotton Plantation Than an NBA team

NBA commissioner Adam Silver is pissing in his boots. He doesn't want to deal with this situation. The pressure is on everyone besides Sterling, because he has already stated how he feels about the ordeal. He'll probably issue an apology or pay a high-priced lawyer to convince everyone that it isn't his voice on those tapes. His players will remain upset, but they love the sport and want desperately to win an NBA title. But I hope Silver really understands the type of mentality attached to Sterling's behavior. He's more fit to own a fully functioning cotton plantation than an NBA team.

For most of my life, the Clippers have been one of the most boring teams in all of professional sports. In recent years they've made some power moves in the front office, and now they might actually be contenders for the NBA title. Most people technically still dislike the Clippers but are open to the idea of giving them a shot to prove themselves. We're just being nice because a few weirdos simply dislike the Lakers, and will support a team manufactured from horse defecation as long as it means they can cheer for the city of LA and not support Kobe Bryant and the Lake show.

Americans of all creeds and colors don't play around when it comes to their sports. Lil Wayne is usually quiet and reserved when it comes to issues like this, but Weezy is also a well-known sports fanatic. He issued a statement that I totally agree with, word for word -- I urge you to check it out. I'll end this discussion for my part by quoting the last line of it: "Purple and yellow, n*gg*."

'Nuff said Weezy...we feel you.

Kelle Deyne . .... truly your so ignorant to open your eye's ! So what your saying is a movie called ..BLACK MEN CAN'T SWIM IS OK ? But white men wcant jumpas made ! The BLACK PAGES with only black owners is out now on stands next to the rft . But the WHITE PAGE'S with only white business owner's is racist ? So the guy said some crap in the privacy of his own house ! But what if we as a people mic. Every house of the nba players ! An busted all of them ! How about we have affirmative action for the nba as we do society ? The nba it about 77 persent black . 17 persent white ! Well I guess that would be racist then ? How about we hold black folks to the same standard's that we hold white people on hate crimes ? You are the racist here ! So don't use the color of my skin as your racist tool ! An if I'm so bad ? Tell my black gal of 8 year's that ! How can I hear cracker or honkey or white bread on t.v. ? But that's not racist ? I can see people with black panthers tattoo's an hear black power . But white power is racist ? I'm a proud WHITE MAN ! Remember a white man freed the slaves ! White men layed down there life's for equality ! An do you have any clue about how BIG Africa is ??????? It was the black man that sold the other black man first ! White men didn't just show up an say . Mmmmm were here for the nigros . Black folks just need to stop using the word nig . Because you can't say a word with out someone else saying it also . AN THEN GETTING ALL PISSY BECAUSE THEY SAID IT TO ! If you call yourself's that ????? Well ?

If we had a mic on everybody in the nba and passed judgement on everything that everyone said, we wouldn't have a league. This guy isn't the only bad apple. He just got caught.

Bob- your racist horns are showing loud and clear! Exposing racism as Rev Sharpton does.... Does not make him a racist! That's a pathetic analogy. Stop whining about this! Sterling is gone! For life! And charged with discrimination several times in court of law. It's illegal, and his words and behavior are against NBA policy. Get over it. He did the crime- and those words he says have consequences. Done and done!

She's a hero for exposing him! She may or may not be a "gold-digger" bit she ain't messin win no racist. It's no different than getting caught cheating in your own home. You do harm and are caught? Don't blame the messenger! Blame the perpetrator!!

I don't think it is a direct correlation to your example. He lost everything in the court of public opinion. People reacted to his most recent statements at such a level of discourse that it became toxic to the NBA and sponsors to be associated with him in any way. And there for tricky to continue to support and image that it is fair to its players which were / are blacks, so they need to considerer their options and they had a 24 hr. window before the same public opinion noose would be tied around their necks as well. So, since The NBA owns the right to make a judgment call and in this case, the potential value of the team was greater than his oversight so he was suspended.

You do realize that the biggest fuss and the people at the helm of the NBA, the sponsoring organizations an the media leads that chose to publicize this are white right? This is primarily white on white judgment here. Think about it.... He was taken down by other whites not so much the black population. Hit me back with your thoughts.

I have to say, I don't like the idea of there being no color. Actually, I like being my color. To me, saying there is no color is like saying it is embarrassing, I don't want to be some vanilla figure so others can not have to deal with my differences. I would rather someone know I am a black man and not care about it than someone to not notice me. It s like being of color is some horrible thing. Black and brown skin is beautiful, and by God it looks good in colorful clothes ha ha. I want people to see my color, but it should not matter in the context of my value as a parent, professional, student or just a citizen. But don't say there is NO color. I am full of color and my friends from around the world love me for who I am and don't try to ignore it but celebrate our differences and I think that's what life in the 21 century is all about.

Maybe we should lynch mob black people for once? That's a novel idea and would probably keep them quiet.

I can appreciate your point, and I don't hold you responsible. But at the same time I am conflicted because my grandfather and great-grand fathers worked for left-overs on cotton plantations in Arkansas, while white workers got a standard pay and education. The ripple effect of the treatment of these people retarded the growth opportunities of my parents, that also worked in the cotton fields but at a greatly reduced rate over local whites and with no education benefits. So, yes, the cotton industry and the people like you and others that work there have changed, but the history and the ripple effect of those closely effected by those historical decisions and unfair treatments survive today - as you can see in the news and the opinions of many. I know we would like to white wash them from our minds but the reason that this keeps coming up is because this was one of the vehicles that drove the slave trade to begin with AND was used to further dehumanize and disenfranchise a whole race of people for generations (but at the same time we weren't people, we were property, weren't we?). And the stain of these decisions is not something that is easily erased from history or the minds of the people and the children that came after them....like me. And like Jews and the holocaust, we owe those that took the worst for us later generations to NEVER forget what happened (in those cotton fields)....but to find a way to forgive and overcome, together.

God knows we haven't heard ANY black folks say or do some racist crap ??? Like the black page's ! With ONLY black business owners ! THAT IS OUT NOW AT YOUR NEWS STANDS ! RIGHT NEXT TO YOUR R.F.T. !!!! Because if us white folks did that ?????? I can see al sharpton now getting rich off of that juicy piece of race baiting ! Ew weee ! Don't think about it white people ! That would be racist !

Humans need houses and cars (at least in this city, they need a car since our public transportation bites). No one needs an NBA team. Also, just because the public says the guy dosen't deserve something, dosen't mean it's actually going to be taken away. It's not like the government is going to come in and take his team. If the NBA kicks him or his team out, however..... totally legal and justified.

yes, you are right there are still quite a few douchebags living...White ones AND black ones...but it's only the white ones that are lynch mobbed...

When did we become a society that wants take away ownership from someone because we don't like what they say or support? I don't agree with the guy or like what he might have said but he should still be able to own something he currently owns. To me this seems like someone want to take your house or car because they don't agree with you or like what you say.
