Melt turns one this week.
To get in on some birthday action, hang out at Melt this week while it turns one, and head to Plush this Saturday as Apop Records blows out a decade's worth of candles. Other great celebrations include the return of DJ Mahf's Funk Jam series, release shows from the Pat Sajak Assassins and the Lion's Daughter, and the return of King Khan and the Shrines to St. Louis. Read on for info on these shows and more in this week's concert recommendations.

John Doe and his band will be playing intense, literate, lyrical and LOUD music at Off Broadway on Friday night. Please check it out!

Of course the RFT would rather devote space to something called Shitstorm, l know...
