Look for the flying pig this weekend when El Monstero hits Art Hill.
This weekend, support some great shows for even greater causes -- a Michael Brown benefit show jam-packed with local talent takes over Plush, and a Clash tribute show to benefit Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy graces the stage at Off Broadway. Locals Blank Generation and Edgefield C. Johnston also drop new releases at Schlafly Tap Room. Read on for plenty more concert-going alternatives in our recommendations.

Friday (August 22):

MC Frontalot
w/ Dr Awkward, Corn Mo
@ Fubar
7 p.m. | $14
Self-described "world's 579th greatest rapper" MC Frontalot is the king of nerd-core hip-hop. Fans of MC Chris take note. (DH)

Nikki Hill

The STL native's star continues to rise nationally, and her local stops are few and far between. Don't miss the opportunity to catch a true talent in her hometown. (DH)

Also on Friday, check out the Blank Generation releases an album at Schlafly Tap Room and Dave Stone Trio plays its regular gig at Mangia Italiano. Click the links for extended previews.

RFT Q & Brew in the Lou
w/ Old Capital Square Dance Club, Dance Floor Riot
@ St. Louis Union Station
