​​Even with the instant gratification of social media, there is still something about the art of the show fliers that cannot be replaced. This week, we ventured along Delmar Boulevard to bring you this week's shows in fliers hanging on the walls, counters and windows of Blueberry Hill's Duck Room, Vintage Vinyl, Iron Age Studios, Sunshine Daydream and Snarf's.

A couple highlights: Pop's Nightclub is hosting a benefit for Joplin tomorrow nigh, featuring Greek Fire and Evans Blue, and Rum Drum Ramblers will be having their vinyl release show Saturday night at the Gramophone.

This week, we ventured to the Grove, wandered down Delmar Boulevard and tramped along Cherokee Street to bring you this week's shows in fliers hanging on the walls, counters and windows of the Atomic Cowboy, the Gramophone, Vintage Vinyl, Apop Records, Cherokee Street Bikes and Foam Coffee and Beer.

Psychedelic punk rockers the Black Lips will be playing tonight at the Firebird. Troubadour Dali is having its album release show on Saturday at Off Broadway, and Tech N9ne is also playing that night at Pop's.

This week, we ventured to the Grove and Cherokee Street to bring you this week's shows in fliers hanging on the walls, counters and windows of the Atomic Cowboy, the Gramophone, the Handle Bar, the Mud House, Off Broadway and Foam Coffee & Beer.

The Firebird brings Blitzen Trapper to St. Louis on July 23 and Magic City releases Les Animaux Épouvantables that night at El Leñador. The Dear Hunter, still fresh off the release of its ambitious The Color Spectrum, will play at the Firebird on Tuesday, July 26.

Canadian punk rockers Fucked Up play at the Firebird tomorrow night, and the Luminary Center for the Arts brings Of Montreal to St. Louis on Monday night. Electronic outfit Glitch Mob will be performing Monday night as well at 2720 Cherokee.

Humdrum plays tonight at Cicero's, and Theodore will be at Pig Slop Studios across town at 8 p.m. The Firebird brings punk outfit the Swingin' Utters to St. Louis tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m, and Matt & Kim bring the fun to the Pageant tonight.

Energetically spastic duo Matt and Kim come to the Pageant next Sunday, and the Jump Starts have their album release show this Saturday at the Warehouse during the evening stretch of S.L.U.M. Fest over at the Atomic Cowboy, running from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. The Old Rock House brings singer Katie Herzig to St. Louis this Saturday as well.

​Even in today's age where shows are announced via social media and the internet at a nearly instantaneous speed, the art of show flyers thrives. Wandering along Cherokee Street and Delmar Boulevard, we found some of the shows you could catch in the next week hanging on the windows, walls and counters of Apop Records, Cranky Yellow, Black Bear Bakery, Vintage Vinyl, Sunshine Daydream, Blueberry Hill's Duck Room, Snarf's, Iron Age Studios, The Pageant and a street post or two.

The Blind Eyes is slated to play at Off Broadway on June 11, and Pops brings Thursday to St. Louis on June 12. Lemmon's is hosting a benefit show for Joplin tornado victims on June 12 as well. That's just the beginning: This week's crop boasts everything from Ramones tribute rockers We're a Happy Family to Texas' Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears.

Wandering about Delmar Boulevard, we found some of the shows you could attend in the next week hanging on the windows, walls and counters of Vintage Vinyl, Blueberry Hill, The Pageant, Iron Age Tattoo Studio and V Vegaz Style.

This week brings rock legend Primus and mix tape hero Curren$y to St. Louis, and Chuck Berry will be playing his residency at the Duck Room this Wednesday. A slew of shows are set between today and next Tuesday, May 31, from pun lovers the CunninLynguists and Diemonds to bands who use complete sentences as names: I Can Make a Mess Like Nobody's Business.
