Playing Like a Cardinal in 2009

A couple of days ago I received a very nice email, from a man who works in the Cardinals' Fan Development Office (I assume that's what used to be referred to as marketing), passing along a link to the Cards' new batch of advertisements for 2009.

They're using the Play Like a Cardinal theme again this year; it worked pretty well last season, I suppose, and personally, I thought they were pretty good. (In fact, the only one I really didn't care for was the commercial with Jason Isringhausen coming out to finish eating Adam Wainwright's hot dog. Considering how the bullpen performed last season, the commercial probably should have ended with Randy Flores, Ryan Franklin, and Izzy himself all staggering around, puking up hot dogs all over the field. But I digress.)

As is pretty much always the case with anything on the 'net these days, the new ads (at least some of them), have already made their way over to Youtube, so here's a little taste of what the Cards have cooked up for this year. Not bad, if I do say so myself.

Actually, it's two ads, and the second one sort of sucks. There is something about the sight of Brian "Faster Than a Speeding Rocket Scientist" Barton in a straw hat that I find oddly endearing, though.

Oh, and also, the one with the Sutter beards is pretty great, I have to admit. Something about the line, "That means it's working," gets me every time.
